At the start of her career while working at Jacobi Medical Center as Associate Director, during the height of the HIV epidemic, in conjunction with the Infection Control Department, developed and implemented a comprehensive inservice program for physicians and other hospital personnel to comply with CDC's regulations for the healthcare worker and medical personnel. Similar program remains a mandate for all direct healthcare workers across the U.S. She is an effective communicator as well as bilingual in Spanish.
Vivian's career then advanced and diversified from being a Director of Quality Improvement of a hospital to the Assistant Vice President and Administrator of a nursing home. Most recently, through she supports healthcare facilities in the New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County locations in transitioning to FEMA's Incident Management System for a unified response to emergencies. Conducts training on the National Incident Management System (NIMS/NHIMS) across the continuum of healthcare facilities with emphasis on Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery of any emergency - including the Pandemic.
